Being from Toronto, I can’t believe I didn’t know about Egyptrixx sooner. I just came across Egyptrixx’s remix EP, “The Only Way Up” on Boomkat, and was hooked right away. For me, the absolute killer mix is by UK’s rising star on the dubstep scene, Ikonika (on Hyperdub). It takes the cosmic sublime original and totally knocks it out with a more hotter summery feel with crazy soca action! She will be performing at MUTEK 2010 this year. Super jealous of Urbansteve and MissRuckus who will be going to the festival. (Damn, I really really really want to go. I’m expecting a full report M&U!)
