The unofficial word on the street is that we may start to see (all?) future releases by Joy Orbison as Joy O [cringe]. Hotflush just let loose with a sneak preview of Joy O’s new material (due out in March) and it sounds like he’s definitely foraging new terrain for himself here.. or rather, following more in the footsteps of his last vinyl only release, the BB/Ladywell 12″ on his own label Doldrums (apparently sold out everywhere on the planet – or if not, let a sister know!). This new sound seems to be less for the headphone nerds and more about rocking a 4-on-the-floor dancefloor.. so you headphone nerds will have to learn to dance (for the record, we at Hot Sauce happily straddle both worlds).

Ramadanman may be retiring his well known moniker (definitely more into this, Mr. non-Muslim British kid!), but still releasing under Pearson Sound and the new Maurice Donovan alias. So far, Maurice Donovan has been all about venturing into Chicago house territory with a recent rework for Julio Bashmore, and a 12″ on Untold‘s SSSSS imprint in the wings.
